Local Roots and Educational Journey

Having grown up in Tarboro, Georgia, Dr. Green proudly identifies as a native of Camden County. She attended Woodbine Elementary School, Camden Middle School, and Camden County High School. Following her graduation from Valdosta State University with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, Dr. Green began her career as a high school science and math teacher, honing her skills in the classroom for several years.

Leadership Roles and Achievements

Prior to her current role as Assistant Superintendent for Grades 6-12 at Glynn County Schools, Dr. Green held various leadership positions at the school, district, and state levels. Notably, her tenure as a leader at Andrew Jackson High School in Duval County played a crucial role in transforming the school from a “D” rated institution to a “B” rated one. During this time, she also achieved a historic graduation rate of 95%. Furthermore, as the Assistant Superintendent (Chief) of High Schools for Hillsborough County, Dr. Green oversaw the budget, instruction, and personnel for 51 high school sites, making a significant impact in the nation’s 7th largest school district.
