Public Notice: Hurricane Preparedness Town Hall

In preparation for the upcoming Atlantic Hurricane Season, the Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is hosting a Hurricane Preparedness Town Hall on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the College of Coastal Georgia Camden Center at 8001 Lakes Blvd. in Kingsland. Participants will learn about the 2023 Hurricane Season forecast, Camden Flood Risk tool, and the new hurricane evacuation zones. Speakers include Al Sandrik of the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, Ashby Worley of the Nature Conservancy, and Chuck White of Camden County EMA. All residents should be aware that it only takes one storm to have a major impact on our community. In 2021, our county received damage from a tornado caused by Tropical Storm Elsa. In 2022, our community prepared for impacts from both Hurricane Ian and Tropical Storm Nicole. Individuals looking for more information on how to prepare for hurricane season can visit www.camdencountyga.gov/ema or www.weather.gov/hurricanesafety.
